DCP Learning Exchanges are intentionally designed, small-format gatherings that bring nonprofit leaders and trusted strategic partners together for thoughtful, grounded conversation.
These two-hour evening sessions create rare space for conversations nonprofit leaders don’t often get to have — about what’s actually working, what’s quietly challenging, and where shared insight, resources, and encouragement can make a meaningful difference.
They exist because leading nonprofit work can feel isolating — and because the strongest local philanthropy is built when people have protected space to pause, connect, and learn from one another in real time.
DCP Learning Exchanges are not workshops, panels, or networking events.
They are carefully facilitated conversations designed to support clarity, connection, and shared understanding — without pressure to perform, pitch, or prove expertise.
Conversations are grounded in real experience, with learning flowing between participants rather than from a stage. Strategic partners are present to listen and contribute perspective — not to market services.
The room is held with care, intention, and respect for the work people carry.
The goal is not to solve everything in two hours — but to leave participants more informed, less alone, and better supported in their leadership.
Participation in DCP Learning Exchanges is limited by design.
These gatherings are created for depth and trust — not scale. Keeping the room small allows participants to speak honestly, listen carefully, and engage with one another in ways that simply aren’t possible in larger settings.
Because of this:
This approach protects the integrity of the experience and ensures each Exchange remains grounded, respectful, and genuinely useful for those who are part of it.
Each DCP Learning Exchange follows a consistent, thoughtfully designed flow that balances structure with openness — creating a steady, supportive experience without feeling scripted.
Participants can expect:
The experience is designed to feel intentional, grounded, and generous — not rushed or overwhelming.
DCP Learning Exchanges are designed for leaders carrying real responsibility — people making consequential decisions in complex, real-world nonprofit environments.
They are intended for individuals actively engaged in strengthening local philanthropy, including:
Nonprofit leaders
Executive directors, development leaders, and senior program staff responsible for fundraising strategy, board development and engagement, events, donor relationships, and long-term organizational sustainability.
Strategic partners
Professional advisors and service providers who work closely with nonprofits and understand the realities of nonprofit leadership — including legal, financial, creative, operational, and fundraising professionals.
These strategic partners offer insight grounded in real-world experience — not sales or promotion — helping nonprofit leaders clarify decisions, surface blind spots, and move forward with insight they can apply immediately.
Participation is intentionally curated to preserve trust, depth, and meaningful dialogue within the room.
DCP Learning Exchanges are part of Douglas County Philanthropy’s broader commitment to open participation and intentional partnership.
Some Exchanges may be open to broader participation. Others are invitation-based to support specific conversations, roles, or leadership needs.
Because space is limited, early interest matters. When an Exchange fills, registration closes — even if demand remains.
Details — including dates, locations, and participation information — are shared in advance through Douglas County Philanthropy communications.
Participation priority is extended to nonprofit leaders and partners actively engaged in strengthening local philanthropy through Douglas County Philanthropy’s work.

DCP Learning Exchanges are designed to support leaders over time — not just in a single moment.
Once each year, Douglas County Philanthropy hosts a small Executive Exchange designed specifically for nonprofit leaders carrying senior organizational responsibility.
This facilitated gathering creates protected space for reflection, peer dialogue, and leadership clarity at the start of the year. Participation is intentionally curated to preserve trust, depth, and meaningful conversation among peers navigating complex leadership realities.
This Exchange is distinct from DCP Learning Exchanges, offering deeper, peer-level dialogue for leaders responsible for overall organizational direction, sustainability, and impact.
Details are shared directly with invited participants.
DCP Learning Exchanges are announced throughout the year, and space is limited for each session.
If you’re interested in participating, staying connected is essential. Exchanges often fill quickly, and staying informed is the best way to ensure you don’t miss the opportunity to be part of an upcoming Exchange.
